Time
The funny thing about time is that we often complain about how we don’t have enough of it.
“There’s not enough time in the day”
“I would if I had time”
“I didn’t have time to get to it”
It’s often an excuse we give ourselves everyday. But what happens when all time is taken away from us? What happens when we die? What happens when someone we love is no longer with us? What do we do then?
When time is taken away from us, we can only think of what we did with our time. We think about where most our time was spent. For some people, they are happy with where they invested their time. Some people spend most of their time traveling, spending time with their loved ones, or doing what they love. When they think back, all they can do is smile. A minute wasn’t wasted. On the other end, there are people who reflect and feel thoughts of regret. They wish to have spent a little more time doing what they love. They wish they could’ve spent more time with their loved ones. They wish they weren’t so consumed into other things.
Which brings me to my first, last, and only point. The greatest measurement of love is time. In this life, time is never promised. Tomorrow is never promised. Heck, a couple hours from now… it’s not promised either! But the greatest gift you can give to anyone and anything you love, is your time.
It goes a long way…
